Replica Lorinser Roof Wing

Various replica Lorinser roof wings exist for the W203 sedan, yet not the W203 sports coupe.

Many don't like replicas for the cheap quality and imperfections, thus this is just a poll to see what sports coupe owners prefer: a replica or the real deal.

I would not want a replica bumper, yet a spoiler isn't subject to the same possibility of damage.

here's my original LORINSER roof wing

LORINSER Roof Wing (203 Coupe)
Part # L488.1213.00 w/out antenna hole
There's one for those who have the antenna, but I don't know the part #.

I got mine through EVOSPORT in HB. They prepped, painted, and installed.
Awesome job and it looks great !

imho....they look terrible, and serve no aerodynamic function at street speeds

from various posts here...if you install it wrong you cant open the hatch all the way without breaking the damned thing

save the $$$ for a better mod

Disagree. MB tuners are boring and over-priced. If a tuner offered something truely original (Renntech wide-body kit) I'd pay the cost, this roof-wing has very little styling, yet is the only available one.

A new roof wing would be cool to design and mold, yet far more costly than just making a replica. Unlike the E55 poster in the C-class section, many of us are modders on a budget.

How many after-market body kits serve any fucntion at all? Few to none. Its a styling choice, and IMHO I like it.

Installation is simple if you open the hatch and do a bit of measuring.

Aerodynamic function ??? Spoilers on every single car on the streets today, serve no purpose whatsoever, except for aesthetics.
For a true (custom designed to your car body style) aerodynamic spoiler or roof wing to function, you have to be going on at 120+ mph in a straight line, or live in a wind tunnel.

Anyway, the posts about wrong installation of the LORINSER Roof Wing on the Coupe, were made by me to ensure no one goofed it. My installation came out perfect thanks to EVOSPORT. That's what these forums are all about, to help fellow modders. It's all a matter of choice & taste what you decide to put or leave off your car. Since the back of the Coupe is not the prettiest thing on everyone's mind, a few mods can only improve its appearance or at least take away from its big butt stigma.
