C240 - Remove Oil Pan
C240 4Matic Wagon 2004
I've read conflicting advice removing oil pan - does engine need to be lifted? Can pan be worked out around power steering lines, etc, without disconnecting steering column?
I have pan loosened, but looks like I may need to remove something to get it out.

Whatever... I'm resigned to waiting for weather to improve so I can get this done in my driveway.
Turns out the recommended procedure (according to MB) for this model is:
- drain oil pan
- remove duct-work, MAF, etc.
- lift engine slightly
- dismount torsion bar
- dismount engine mounts
- raise engine
- unbolt pan
- crack pan seal (need heat gun)
- remove oil level sensor & connector
- <reverse>
Whatever... I'm resigned to waiting for weather to improve so I can get this done in my driveway.
