Picking up new C230
Hi there,
I'm picking up my new C230 this week and was wondering two things:
1) What should I check when I'm picking up the car to make sure everything is okay with the car before I leave the dealership?
2) During the break-in period, what kind of recommendations do you have for driving? (i.e. - RPM limits, MPH limits, how many miles before driving normal?)
Thanks,
Daws

1.) Make sure you spend a lot of minutes with him going through all the nice cool gadgets...
2.) I didn't really bothered with my break-in period...ran about 60-65 mph on it...my friend told me to keep the rpm at different levels from time to time. By the way, I didn't listen to him...
Enjoy your new car.

Break in Period, General rule of thumb: Do not exceed 3/4 of max RPM. Vary speed and driving condiftions, avoid extended highway driving (hard for commuters).
Pick up items. Check ALL painted surfaces and paperwork, Check all basic mechanical functions, doors, windows, locks, headlights, ASK lots of questions

well.... I broke all the rules...
I didnt really care about the break in period, I got to 80 mph on the way home, exceded the 3/4 reving limit....pretty much broke al lthe rules, but I have 11000 miles on my car, and everything has worked perfect.
Youll be happy about your new car, enjoy it..

Persanally, I think that the biggest thing that you should check for is the aesthetic imperfections that are not covered by warranty. Check the paint, look for dings, scratches, paint imperfections. Check the rims carefully for any sidewalk scratching (common when reversing down a car carrier sometimes). Check the interior the same way. These are all things that you can't bring the car back for.
