Mp3 Player

Sup All, Im really into Mp3s so I bought the Neo Mp3 Player. I have the 20gb version so I will be able to hold thousands of songs and never have to mess with CDs again. Heres the link.

The only thing is I have to get a new HU because I need a set of RCA inputs to run it. I may get the RFX9300 or some kinda of Pioneer. The stock C230 HU doesn't have an RCA input by chance? What do you guys think?

what about an RF connection? i don't think mp3 songs will be hurt by RF as they are inherently not great recordings.

looking forward to your final installation.

I think you will be going back to your CDs because 128 kbps mp3 file IS NOT the same quality as CD, you can hear the difference on the treble and fine instruments like guitars, piano, harps, etc. And 96 kbps is even worse. you just can't substitute PCM compression with MP3.

Plug your Neo to you home system and compare the same song on a CD (do this with different music), let us know your comparison tests.

I had a Kenwood Mp3 player before, if the bitrate is at least 160kbs you cant tell the difference. Im going to get the RF and hook the Neo through it because it has RC inputs.

i've found that 160kb is the minimum. the poor quality of the 128kb is easily discernible to me.

I agree, 128kbs is ok for home listening on the computer but its poor quality is easily noticed on a nice audio system. Getting back to the Neo, I have heard real good things about it, I will let you all know how it goes. I cant wait to get rid of all my CDs

Dows your Neo play WMA? If so, you can rip your CDs using Media Player at 128 kbps (which is equivalent to 192 kbps mp3 or better) and take advantage of the better sound quality, if it doesn't play WMA you can rip your CDs at 192 kbps mp3 so you get better quality, down side to it, bigger file.

My 2 cents
