Hi folks,

My AC Compressor sounds like a washing machine full of marbles at idle regardless of being on or off nor does my AC work and never has done since owning the car. I’m still bringing it back from the dead and is now almost complete.

Noise stops when you start driving/rev up and I’ve used stethoscope to track it to the compressor. My question is can it be removed and a shorter belt used or can I do anything to repair it ? I don’t need AC at the moment and I’m pretty sure some pipes etc need replacing. That being said I would rather do all this in spring rather than freezing my *** off.

Im not bothered if the repair would destroy the compressor function as I will just get a new one next year I just need something to stop the noise for now.
