Climate Control?

Hey Guys,

I’ve owned a few MBs in the past although this is my first 203. I’m perplexed by the heating, the vents are blowing cool air especially the side ones even when I crank the temp up on both sides. I generally keep the temp set around 73-75 during the cold months. Don’t get me wrong the cabin is warming up, but it feels very different to my prior MBs. I turned the dial between the center vents all the way down so only one arrow shows. I’m pretty sure this is also the case with the vent on top of the dash. I do not see an A/C button on the climate control which I assumed might be set to on.

Do you cars operate like mine with regard to the heating? I thought about burping the system to see if it helped. Any insight would be appreciated!

Cheers,

-Rob

I have heard of a thermistor going bad in the control panel enclosed in the dome light capsule, may be in the other forum. Do a search.

CL500
On my 2006 CL500 I have the opposite problem. The center vent blows nice, cold air, but the side vents I can not get to blow anything but warm air. The shop I use recharged the system and clicked for errors notices and removed the only one. Is there a flap or something that might have gotten stuck and which doesn't route cold air to the vents? Or something else I haven't thought of? Also I can not get the rear window shade to operate. Any useful comments?
