C240 Timing Chain

My C240 quit running. Car is very well maintained. Put timing light on engine and found timing out by a few degrees. Apparently timing chain jumped a tooth or two on the gear. I replaced Tensioner last year as a preventative measure. Apparently timing chain just fell or stretched apart. Engine has 174,000 miles on it. Engine turns over freely just will not start. Does not sound like any valves hit the pistons.

what would be the easiest way to replace timing components in this sutuation. Before this car ran perfectly.

I'm confused. How do you determine the chain is bad with a timing light? The most common cause of no start on the m112 is a dead crank sensor.

You pulled both valve covers and checked the marks on both cams?
