![Question](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I just joined this forum to get an advice on c230...
I don't care about sporty thing since we already have Boxster, so we deciced go by c230 over 325i. If it's good enough to replace our old Audi A4, that's what we are lookig for.
Should I go by 2005 or look for better(?) deal on 2004?
Any thing I better know? (we only saw 2005 model so far)
Any tips or advices will be greatly appreciated.

C230 coupe 2003, 2014 GLK350, 2020 GLC63
hello and welcome to the forums. Are you looking at the C230 coup0e or sport sedan? I'm not sure how much of a better deal you'd get on the 2004 models, but I'm sure you can still get a decent deal on the 2005's. I'm not really an expert, so if I give any wrong info, someone please correct me...
There are some new changes for the 2005 that may help you decide whether or not to go with it or the 2004. Some changes (on the 2005) include: 1) updated interior/dahsboard, which some say resembles audi's interiors (judge for yourself), 2) "nanotechnology' ceramic clearcoat, which supposedly has greater resistance to scratching and color fading, 3) different front grille on both the sedan and coupe, 4)clearer ( no yellow bulbs visible) on the turn signals(the ones on the side view mirrors) 5) imrpoved/sportier suspension ( i thkkn the coupe is lowered from 2004), 5) bigger brakes that say "mercedes benz" on them (I think this may be available on the 2004.5 sedans too) .
I'm pretty sure the 2005 navigation system is DVD based, while previous years are CD based.
basically, there are a lot of cosmetic changes for the 2005. If you are considering the coupe, you may be interetsed to know that there is speculation that the US coupe model will be discontinued come 2006.
GOod luck deciding on the right vehicle for your needs.

go for the 05. It will run you about 34,500 with nav. Get the HK sound system and the bi zenons. (sunroof is a personal option). the car will meet all your expectations if you are going from the audi to the mecedes. The 1.8 turbo is s good car but the mercedes will be so much nicer. Get the Sport sedan (my personal opion) it is a better looking car than the coupe and it is more like the audi that you already drive.

Out Of Control!!
The biggest difference is that maintenance is no longer free on the '05s, so factor that into your decision as well. That adds a good amount to the price of the '05s.
Otherwise, it's really personal taste on which cosmetics you like better. Oh, the manny on the '05s is supposed to be a nice improvement, if you're looking at rowing your own.

I believe the Nano paint should be on most cars with a build date of August 2003 or later...Most 2004 units will likely have it.
My MY '04 C230 was produced 11/03 and has a Nano paint job.
