C240 engine acts like turning over but does not turn over
hello I have a C240 (2001) the car is in really good condition and it is dark purple I love this car and I was curious if anyone knew what could be causing this issue?
the vehicle turns on and acts like it's going to start and then gets stuck in the turning over phase just keeps trying to turn over making this continuous noise. of the car trying to turn over it's like it's in a loop so I decided to do some basic troubleshooting. however at this point the car was already sitting for two months and the battery has died. so I try to jump the car and get it working however it will not start continue to do the same thing. so AAA told me there was a bad cell in the battery so I replaced it. whatever the issue still persisted. so I did some research online and they some people are saying it could because of the security system. and I was told to unhook the yaw sensor in the trunk, the vehicle started!! the excitement was only short-lived. but since then I have not been able to get the same success.
the system is not throwing any errors on the malfunction. and when I hook up the OBD reader I get the X on cat and all codes equal zero. so I'm curious if anybody can give me any other ideas of troubleshooting, this vehicle is my wife's pride and joy. I really don't want to give up on the car
so long story short:
starter stay engaged turning the engine not allowing it to run

Sounds like a dead fuel pump. Check the pressure at the fuel rail (your engine will have 2 since it's a V6; either rail will do). This is a 2 person job. Locate the shrader valve on the rail. Uncap it and and push the valve in (like deflating a tire), and have the other person try to start the car. Fuel should squirt out if the pump if working. Be sure to wear eye protection.
Anecdotally, the fuel pumps tend to go after some 200k km.
You can also check the fuel pump relay, though these aren't known to go unlike the fuel pump itself.
W203 fuel pump replacement
The job itself isn't hard. Just need to obtain a fuel pump ring tool (giant glorified jar opener), which can be purchased at any auto parts store or possibly rented.

Ditto. What he said. Oreily has free loan of fuel pressure guage.
Yup,no codes. Mine lasted 200K miles.
Use tie wraps to make sure the fuel connection doesn't pop off like mine did.
Relay is like 10 bucks, I tried that 1st, then FP and fixed it..
