actually, I don't care about status. I just like the way it looks. I saw a 2005 C-class in white on the road yesterday and it looked awesome.

i think the 05 230 looks alot better then the tsx, but the tsx will have more overall performance and MBz do a much better job in the interior too. one thing i think you need to notice is that driving a benz is really driving a benz and driving a acura is really driving a acura, it is 2 different story. So, i will perfer you to get the C230

just wait for a couple of months and the rattles start coming out in the Acura...

don't get me wrong, I loved my TL when I had it... But build quality just doesn't compare... People don't understand... All these extra features/gadgets the Japanese cars have is just an illusion for people to think it's more of a car for less money... Yeah it's cool but... People tend to overlook the most important thing... build quality and safety features... well, have fun with your TSX.

I trust honda build quality much more than I trust BMW/Benz/VW build quality. Yes Benz may look like a more solid vehicle but all the little things start going down after 3-4 years. Thats why honda resale value is more than 40% after 3 years...while benz is no more than 25-30%.

also this forum is just as reliable as the cars....keeps braking every day

LOL, I agree. While I own a 2001 C320; I feel that if I was to buy a entry level luxo sedan; it would be the C230 SS...but dollar for dollar; a black 2005 Chrysler 300C Hemi, not to be confused with a regular 300!

Best Bang for the buck!

Eh... I've owned an Acura before and I own a Mercedes now so I think I'd know better than someone who's never owned a Mercedes before. Like I've said, my Acura started having rattles a couple of months after purchase... Transmissions on the TL/CL/Honda Oddysey/MDX have major problems... And how would you know that Benz start going down after 3-4 years... You own one for that long?

By the way, I used to be a moderator on acura-tl.com which is ran by the same people as acura-tsx.com... Have fun over there.

My dad's 230E is still up and running. It never had major or minor problems since the day we got it since we bought it more than 10 years ago. The car even had been T-boned and almost totalled (needless to say both my parents and the rear passenger walked out with little to no injuries)! The insurance company won't buy us a new car and force the MB dealer in Hong Kong to fix the car. I guess this says something about the build quality of the MB. Pound for pound, I still trust MB more than a Honda.

Hehe. I happen to trust Honda more than MB but I'm getting a MB anyway.

I want a cool car and I don't care about reliability.

You wouldn't say that if you had been involved in a major accident. I just saw an old CLK crushed by an 18 wheeler. The CLK completely lost its rear end+seats but the driver and passenger seats were intact and those two people walked away with minor injuries.

Let any acura join me on a 130 mph cruise and feel as stable and comfortable as I will be.

in my youth, i had a honda prelude. one day, a guy rammed his volkswagen beetle into the back end of my car. the back end of my car was pretty much totaled but the damage to his front end was minimal.

i don't know if the japanese car manufacturers have improved the body construction of their cars since then but that prelude was really unsafe.

mechanically speaking, the honda was very reliable. i traded it in when it reached 105k miles.

i like MB for a different reason, i think it looks cooler at 35 mph than most cars

to me, Looks are very important. that's why I switched brand because I couldn't stand the designs made under chris bangle's watch.

Guess you missed out on a few things....Like:

1) All the window positions are known to the computer. When Recirc is pressed, any windows in the down positions are rolled up. Press Recirc again, windows go to original positions. Window position info is also important to properly deploy side airbags.
2) Pull up to a stop, and go to open the door. If you unlocked only the driver's door when you got in, only that door will unlock. If you unlocked all doors when you got in, all doors will unlock.
3) If you have the Memory package on a Merc, you get a Memory package. Seats, Steering, Mirrors all tied into the Memory, and steering/seats that move to ideal entry/exit positions when you remove the key. The memory can be tied to the different Keys.
4) Computer knows which seat positions are filled. Airbags are deployed accordingly in time of accident. Not just deploy all airbags.
5) Side airbags in rear, along with a third headrest – not to mention headrests that fold out of the way when not in use. Button on dash folds headrests down.
6) A lit safety unlock button in the trunk. No one is going to force anyone into the trunk and lock them in. The light goes out after 5 min.
.
.
.
.
.
With Merc the list goes on and on. Acurii just don't come close - not the TSX, not even the TL can come close to a Benz C!!!! Merc has taken time to plan every part of the car, with a specific platform for that car only! The Acura is just a Honda with a bunch of add-ons, and guess what – they missed a whole bunch of stuff. Acura is really only half the car – a 3 dressed up as a 9.

A more suitable comparison to the Acura would be a well outfitted Pontiac.

Well now there's a car that didn't start off as a Civic, or an Accord, right? And it is rear wheel drive.

BOL.
