Front Seats rail rusting?

The back part of the front seat rail is starting to rust on both driver and passenger side? Seems a bit odd considering nobody ever sits in the back...

I'd like to remove both seats so I can apply some 3m Rust converter and paint it black, I'll wash my carpets at the same time, just wondering if it's as easy as unbolting them or is there too much wires that cannot be unplugged..

thanks

if you look under the seats there are some cables going up into the seat bottom. do you have heated seats, are your seats power. if yes then expect more cables to unplug than just the baby smart system.

Thanks for the quick reply, yes I have heated and power seats... These can be unplugged without any issue or should I disconnect the battery before?

you will probably have to resync your power seats once you re-install them. just a matter of going back/forth each position and holding it there for 1 sec. the actual directions should be in the owners manual. ive never had to resync my power seats, but i have my pano roof and windows. i would think disconnecting the battery wouldnt be neccesary but i dont see it hurting anything either. better to be safe than sorry. make sure your roof is closed if you disconnect the battery though, hand cranking that thing shut is a pain in th @$$.
