M271 Oil leak between Timing cover and Head Gasket
Hi Everyone,
Hopefully I can get to the bottom of this issue I've been having lately.
I had the timing chain changed in my Kompressor engine W203 and ever since then I've been having an oil leak between the bottom of the timing cover and the head gasket, where the two meet. It's been leaking across the V shaped shelf on the front of the engine onto the RH side and onto the bottom of the sump.
I took it back to the place I had the timing chain done and they have told me it's the head gasket leaking oil. I am unsure to either believe this and replace the head gasket or just leave it as I am getting ready to sell the car in a couple of months?
Below is a picture with a red line pointing out where it's leaking from.
Any advice would be great. Thanks
And yes, the cam magnets are leaking but I've replaced them since and cleaned the area only for the leak show itself in the location I spoke of above.
