I recently purchased a 05 c230 kompressor that was a repo that was on its way to the scrapper from a local dealer, in short they didn't have a key for it and MB wants to charge me 400.00 for a new one, is there any other way to get another key? I've seena couple of places that want you to send in for EIS online but i haven't seen any great reviews for them, Thanks in advance for any help.

 

400 is on the high side.
Call around to other dealers.
But you will have to bite the bullet and buy the key.
Otherwise have the EIS replaced, comes with key, ~ $1500.

New key from the dealer is the ONLY option. Shop around, but don't expect less than $350. Might be more than the car is worth too.

 

I saw EIS onlne with the key for 150, but I had no idea if the EIS needed to be programmed to the ECU or immobilizer in the car. But I think I will go the key at the dealer way

 

Finally found one for 300.00 and yeah lol I only paid about 250.00 for the car
