I just saw your posting that you need a new Windshield... hopefully you will bring your car to the meet.

oh i am bringing my car. the windshield i have now, is fine. after the accident an after market windshield was put in. when i turn the wipers on they wipe 3x then stop. before it was only once then stopped until the rain sensors told them to wipe again. so the insurance company is going to put in an OEM windshield to get them to work the way they were.

PTS is coming along. I have the 10 sensors, sensor clips and switch row (w/ heated/vented seat buttons, going to get that soon as well). Sunil has ordered the 5 harnesses which should be arriving at his place Friday. Next I'm ordering the rub strips, vent, vent dial and clips. I've broken the parts list down into 6 seperate shipments. I'm ordering once every two weeks and should be finished by mid Oct. I'd like to check out your install at the meet and hopefully get the number to your body shop so I can get these sensors painted.

I don't understand how they would put an aftermarket windshield on your car when you had the rain-sensing wiper. On my sis's CLK when she had an accident when the windshield is all smashed we got the OEM windshield put it by the MB bodyshop.

have fun installing the PTS...

btw, I just did another mod today. I had the #2 pads switches to #1. The rear dropped from 1 1/2 finger to 1 finger...hahah

the insurance company only approved an aftermarket windshield. they didn't think it would be a big deal, but since the wipers are not working they way they were i made a big deal over it. i took it to the dealer. they said they cant warrant it since the sensors are built in the windshield and it's after market.

so i called the insurance company, *****ed to them and they are putting in an OEM windshield.

thanks FrankW, i can't wait to finish the PTS. by X-mas i'll have PTS, UHI and MB Sirius (if the firmware update for COMAND 2.0 allows SAT function to a 2003 COMAND) and IMS.

then i'll just have CLK heated/vented seats (goal is by next summer) and i think i'll be pretty much finished with major mods.

btw, congrats on your new mod. never can have enough, you know!

(The day of the meet, I would be about 20 miles west of my house, thus 80 some miles , thus from where I am coming from, in order to get to the City of Industry I have to travel "east" of my location --west will take me straight into the Pacific Ocean--

less than 70 mile is less 1 hr top. I can travel 33 miles including 5 mile on local street in 25min.

Take the 210 and then 57 south, it's a lot faster. Last time I made it from the start of the 210 near Magic Mt. to my house in Diamond Bar in 1hr.
