CV Joint Grease
Is there a special CV Joint grease for MB CV joints? I have a torn boot on a 07 C280 4Matic front inner joint and I just not in the mood to replace it at the moment so I was just going to give it a shot of grease with a grease needle. However, the grease that has been slung out of the joint doesn't look like the dark gray that I'm accustomed to.

Well, maybe so, but a $1000 repair on a $3000 car doesn't make much sense. I've been driving it for a year like this. A little more grease may get another year out of this before something else happens making it time to send to the crusher.

I have a love/hate relationship with this car. Mostly with the transmission which I think is the torque converter solenoid. I don't have a lift to get under there to drop the pan and conductor plate to try to remedy. Paying a garage to maybe solve the issue is throwing good money after bad. Same holds true for the c/v joint boot. I've looked at enough youtube videos and it doesn't look too difficult to pull the axle and replace but getting safely under the car is the issue.

I'd suggest buying wheel ramps. Jacks just don't do enough. Obviously a good investment for any car.
I also have to replace my solenoid but I haven't got the ramps yet.
You don't really have to get under the car when you change the axle. Just use one good jack.
