Driver Seat (Back and Forth motion)
All the functions on my driver seat work fine w/ the exception of moving back and forth which is intermittent. When I acquired the car over a year ago I moved the seat almost all the way back and it refused to move forward for a about a month or so. It really caught me off guard when it sprung to life for less than a minute and I was able to move it forward. I disconnected the battery a while back which seemed to make a difference and it now tends to function like it should most of the time.
Any ideas as to what might be going on? I can hear the clicking sound on the seat in both directions when hitting the switch so I think that can be ruled out. I lost complete functionality a few months ago and a fuse in the trunk had blown. I’m starting to think the battery might be the culprit which is about 4-5 yrs old, but no issues with dimming lights... I can only assume the back and forth motion requires a good amount of juice. I would appreciate any insight!
Cheers,

Start by isolating the components. Do all the other seat movements work fine? How about the backward/forward on the passenger seat?

I’m replacing the battery, it’s nearing 5 yrs in pretty extreme temps and the car sits for extended periods at times. I can only assume the back and forth motion requires an adequate amount of juice to function properly. Most likely the reason why the fuse in the rear failed a while back.
I appreciate the help!
