Launching my AWD C class

Hey all, I have a question for all of the technically inclined. I have a C320 4matic and today i powerbraked (brake torqued) up to about 2000 RPM and then took off... the engine seemed to lag a lot less (it kind of felt like I took the slack outa the transfer case/ tranny). I was wondering if this would damage the Differential for the AWD. I do this all the time in the SLK 32 but it has the AMG diff and is RWD . It makes lots of expensive smoke out of the PS2s. My dad thinks im Sorry, back to question, is it bad for the car/ any parts of the car.

Fast Cars!
Well even regular powerbraking on a RWD car people would say its not good. Just dont do it on a regular basis and it should be fine. (of course anything can happen at anytime though :p )

Why dont you just do it until your car breaks and then you wont want to do it anymore. The torque converter will be spitting shards by now. I bet you dont even change the transmission oil as often as you change the engine oil.

The damage pattern is well known in the Mercedes warranty database and your chances of a warranty fix are limited.

2004 C 320 4-matic
Powerbrakeing

Very rarely i have stalled my car and i do not go past 1200 rpms and i dont do it for more than 3 seconds if your going to launch dont hold it for say until the light turns green when it just turned red and now your stalling your car for a minute goodbye torque converter... only stall for 2-3 seconds know when your going to launch and do it quickly.. i wouldnt recommend going past 1200 or doing this at all.. like i said this was only done on rare occasions..

Thanks for the advice all. I wont do it that often. Regarding the transmission fluid question, of course I havent changed it yet, I have only run ~5000 miles on each car. I am going to change it on the AMG at 7500 and 10000 on the C. O and btw, it wouldnt be cost effective to change every time I change the oil, b/c oil in the car is changed every 2500 miles.

Regards,
Jeff

I did that on my TL all the time... It never had a problem on the tranny for some odd reason in its short 35000 mile life... But I could floor it and it only stays at 2750 RPM... It's like a safety feature I guess...
