For those of you with a black (or desiring contrast) sedan, this DEPO brake light blends into the body very nicely. I feel it has greatly cleaned up the rear deck aesthetics.

I swapped it out when I added the OEM inline resisters for the license plate lights. Mine were subject to blowing the bulbs too early and too often.

Tinted brake lights are prohibited under both NY State law and federal law.

And therefore, they are certainly not safe.

I will never understand why anyone will black out any lights, .......??????

I certainly want to be seen, and ensure that one will be able to see me and my lights as best as possible!

The DEPO light when held in your hand appears more clear than tinted. It relies on the shadowing of being encased in the lid to appear dark.

I would suggest, as I caught it too late (after install) to clean up and clear coat the edge fan gate. Where they gated the lens mold is less than desirable and faces up.

This car was in front of us today and it made me think of this thread. By no means am I ever optioning to be unsafe. In fact, 25 years have yielded no issues...knock knock.

However, many many vehicles have darker red lenses OEM as this vehicle in front of us today...
