I would categorize it as Funny!

These cars are designed to go at top end on the Autobahn! Now an average American driver could never handle high speeds anyways and that is what makes it dangerous! The are more deaths caused a year on the highway not by Hi-Speeds but by driver error and imparement! And by imparement I mean things like talking on a phone, drugs(including alcohol), eating, yelling at kids, putting on make-up!!!! Funny on the last person I personally know to get in an accident was actually playing with the child in the back seat while driving! People are morons on average and use no common sense! I am not justifying speeding in any way, but some people actually know what they are doing at hi-speed, especially in a car designed to handle it!

And I have never been in an accident in my 14 years of driving due to speed! It was because I was an idiot at the time in my younger days!

Last time I checked, people don't crash left and right on the autobahn where everyone goes 190km/h... if anything, it's stupid incompetent North American drivers.

At this point, I am not prepared to add extreme photography to my list of significant hazards to motorists. It is my hope that the population of idiots who engage in this activity is small and getting smaller, even though two are members of this forum.

The other question that jumps out is: what level of anonymity are people expecting when using the Internet? This topic includes two members providing written, photographic and cinematic documentation of dangerous activity, that may be considered criminal. Should these people be surprised when the CRMP comes knocking on their doors?

Fortunately for us Americans an officer as to actually witness the offense and could only use the pictures as a reason to look out for that person!

That may not be correct for a criminal, not civil, offence.

i have heard of the 135 limitation but there is also a 155 limitation that may be set. the 135 limitation is normally due to the type of tires fitted to your car, if your car has Z-rated tires the limiter is usually moved up to 155 and it is no longer a tire limitation but a limitation put on courtesy of our government. even though our cars are fitted with Z-rated tires i had always wondered about the 135 limiter mentioned in the manual, apparently there is no 135 limiter then???

Who said this was done using my own car, in Canada? I'm just trembling. Just because you don't have any friends other than your imaginary ones... get a life.

CRMP? Is that short for a cramp? it's RCMP, dumbass. Is your education system that deficient? People like you make me sick.

Well hell no but a traffic violation it is! They can write all the tickets they want but the judge will toss them without a police officer as a witness in %99 of the cases. Those other %1 is when you have a witness sign an affidavit against you!

It is put on in the US no matter what tires are on there! The 155 one is set for AMG models. This was for reasons that make the US DOT all warm and Fuzzy!!!!

Thank goodness you've never made a typographical error. When people like me make you sick, do you then go out and drive like an idiot, or does that happen naturally?

At some point a traffic violation changes from a civil to a criminal offence. A clear example is DWI or vehicular homicide. In Rhode Island, another example is reckless driving, which is a misdemeanor for the first offence and a felony for the second.

What about when you've been a witness against yourself, to the whole world? When your words define the crime AND you've been considerate enough to add supplemental images and video.

If driving at high speeds is a crime, then it looks like you'll hafta arrest every European out there. Especially the Germans, crazy bunch of speed freaks.

Don't go hatin' the rest of the world now...

I'll bet your mom drives faster than you.

...ok, i dont really understand what you were saying in this post. i already stated that the speed limiter is from the US. but the upper limit of which is 155, if it is below that it is normally due to the tire rating...please clarify in what you were adding.

infinite. Do a search on the forum before stating incorrect facts. This topic has been beated to death many times. As Andy puts, if you don't have correct information as it pertains to our vehicles then don't dish it out.

Thats ridiculous. ****, thats funny :p I AM an attorney and reckless, by itself, is never a criminal offense but is a mere violation of the motor vehicle code. Penalties go towards your license, not your freedom. Do you have any idea how serious a "felony" really is?
Summary offense
Misdemeanor (of various degrees)
Felony (of various degrees) = deep doo doo

ok, i read your thread as far as the speed limiter goes, it's suppose to be at 130 but people have gone past it. all i said was that the limit is usually imposed due to tire rating, and other than that, it is limited by the U.S. i figured it was assumed that if the car couldn't reach 155 then obviously the limit lies within the confines of the car/engine itself in reaching that speed. not sure where i was misleading though sorry

-oh, i said 135 before instead of 130, my mistake

The RI Aggressive Driving statute was conceived as another way to whack drivers. It is assessed when two or more infractions occur concurrently. These infractions are defined here.

In RI, Aggressive Driving is distinct from Reckless Driving. Aggressive is a civil infraction, reckless is criminal.

The effect on drivers who don't want to be penalized for this is to limit infractions defined in this statute to one, only. For me, this is the passing on the right infraction. For me, I ALWAYS use the turn signals, to conform with that listed statute and NEVER commit any of the other infractions.

In New England and nearby states, passing on the right is REQUIRED because drivers share the road with rolling brain-dead operators, RBDOs. Half of the RBDO vehicles stay left, half right, forcing drivers to pass on either side, as required.
