W203 Coupe key fob issue
Ok... i did do my due diligence in searching for the answer and couldn't find one that speciffically answers my question. My issue is: i have a key fob that starts my car but keyless entry function does not work. According to the previous owner he had to get a replacement key a while back and it hasn't worked since but worked prior.
I saw a troubleshooting post on another site and it instructed me to try to use key to do it manually... I did and it works. It then gave me a procedure to syncronize that included hitting the trunk button. I don't have that one on mine... all I have is a lock and unlock button.
From other stuff I read if the key starts my car it should be able to unlock it as well. But I can't find anything on a two-button procedure to do that if it doesn't. Any help on that would be awesome.

Pity you could not buy a second replacement key and do something similar to make it open and start the car.
After all you can buy a TV remote control and by pointing the two together copy the signal from one to the other.
But no. We have to pay hundreds of pounds to get a second key.
