i got the same exact ones on my car they ran me about 800 dollars. they look nice sounds pretty nice too. but i tend to hear more engine than the exhaust....does anyone know what i mean???? well either way it looks really good. i can say though.. it was a killer modding the rear bumper for it though...

Last a single tip on either side is always going to be cheaper that a dual tip

if you place a non-functional exhaust on the other side, you could cause serious back-flow problems that will reduce hp, and could eventually cause damage to your car.
If you're going to do exhaust tips on both sides (single or dual) make sure you have the sufficient air flow going through so as to not cause the exhaust to work harder by trying to push more air through more pipe.
That's why fake tips are NOT recommended.
Also be aware, that 4 cylinder vs 6 cylinder engines require different diameter tubing, and they are not interchangeable. You could get away with putting wider tubing on a 4 cylinder, that's how some people have managed to put C32 exhausts on C230K's, but again think of air flow management. However, a thin exhaust tube on a 6 cylinder engine is death !

On a single tip set up, the #1 tip and #3 tip would be eliminated. Left muffler would be a single outlet

Where should I start ? HHMM ??
OK, first Drew, you're replying to a post (#35) that I made YESTERDAY MORNING !! Also I don't want to be a drone, I want to be different. If it weren't for that we'd all be driving horse drawn buggies. Changes are good and not everyone is going to like them at first.
"...Last a single tip on either side is always going to be cheaper that a dual tip..." Even though I wasn't talking about cost here, single tips on each side is what I was saying, so why the first comment ?
Then we have :
"...if you place a non-functional exhaust on the other side, you could cause serious back-flow problems that will reduce hp, and could eventually cause damage to your car."
How can having a fake tip on the other side even affect the working muffler ? So if I buy a fake tip and lay it in my front seat , it will affect my muffler also ? It's FAKE so it isn't attached to the muffler ??? I Don't understand this comment either.
"...You could get away with putting wider tubing on a 4 cylinder, that's how some people have managed to put C32 exhausts on C230K's, but again think of air flow management..."
Back in 1979 I used to street-race cars and we built our own engines, exhausts, suspension, etc. . I agree that I have forgotten a lot since then since I haven't done it in so many years, but changing exhaust size is just a matter of adjusting intake air flow also (like jetting back in the Holley and Weber Side Draft carb days). Maybe with all the computers, adjusting some timing or something else, but it's not a biggie.
Finally, I just posted that I'm in the group buy for the entire WORKING system, so it's all moot..

anyway, most FAKE tips on the opposite side of the muffler, come with piping that goes back to the muffler. It is connected to the muffler, but at some point the pipe solids out, and nothing really flows to the FAKE tip. Unless you've seen a single tip that can be placed on the opposite side, hanging all by itself, with no tubing attached. Then go for it ! That will NOT affect the muffler. However, if you do have tubing go to the fake tip, the extra air flow pushing through that pipe and then not releasing into anything, will cause back flow problems into your muffler, that leads to more drastic problems towards the front of the car.

On Mercedes, you would need to upgrade your ECU and change out a few other air-flow components to achieve that same performance. That is a "biggie" and VERY expensive too !!!

Well, I'll have to read it tomorrow, gotta go to sleep now. I still don't have electricity since Tuesday thanks to the hurricane and the emergency power generator needs a rest, and so do I. Good night guys.
