key fob wont come out of ignition. need help asap

key fob wont come out of ignition. need help asap (solved)
after doing some research i found out the coaxial cable from the shifter came loose. pushed it in and turned it and bam. my key is back in my hand.

i just got my car home from a car audio shop who were installing interior and exterior led lights for me. i turned the car off and the key wouldnt come out. i can still drive it and do everything but the key wont release. they did run some wires through the center console to get to the passenger side. does anyone have any idea why the key wont come out? i have to work at 7am eastern time tomorrow and i really dont want to leave my car unlocked with the key in it while i work 9 hours. someone please guide me in the right direction to get this problem fixed please.
