Hello everyone. I have a Mercedes W203 C180 2003 Kompressor. Few months ago the vehicle has developed a grinding/scraping noise on the left front passenger side wheel. I have taken the vehicle to various mechanics and nobody can give me an exact answer to why this is happening. Less than 1000 miles ago the tyres were replaced along side with the front coil spring, wheel bearing, brake pads and discs all high quality parts. All 4 wheels have been professionally aligned and balanced and the noise is still there. I decided to take the wheel off and upon discovery I have noticed that the tyre is rubbing agains the shock absorber leaving a mark around the whole tyre 360 and the shock absorber. I know this because the paint has chipped off the shock absorber and the tyre has wear marks all around the inside. When I put the wheel back on I have also noticed that the wheel moves slightly left to right and also up and down. Yesterday coming home from work I have decided to reverse the car into my drive and the left side of the vehicle started clucking and heard snapping noises when steering to the right. The noise becomes extremely loud when turning right but absolutely nothing when turning left. I have never experienced this before. I am very concerned about this. Can someone please help me out with some answers. I will be very grateful. Thanks.
