Missing my beloved Benz
I have that MB magazine subscription... that stupid magazine is all about new MB cars. Seems like they produce it, send it out to people, so they will buy a new benz. LOL

I got a retracting pen of pretty good quality, a leather travel folio (smaller than the one picture before), and a kit in a bag with the logo and local MB dealership info that goes in the glove box that includes inside 1- the Sales Manager & Service Dept. Manager's cards w/ Cellphone numbers, 2- a flashlight, 3- a disposable camera with the MB logo on it, 4- batteries for the flashlight and the camera. They told me the kit is in case I have an accident, I can take pictures of everything before anybody moves anything or if the drunk who hit you tries to leave the scene or something like that.
Still tomorrow I'm going to see if they have any Teddy Bears for my daughter !!

Damn, my dealer is an autonation dealer as well... I guess I can expect nada...
As for the discount, my salesman said that IF I bring him the survey, he'll give me cost on any part/accessory that I want. So, today at my service, I brought the survey (I really didn't care, b/c I was pretty happy with the sale) and gave it to him. And, I ordered quite a few things with good-ok discounts.

After you purchase your car, after a couple of weeks, a survey is sent to you to grade your salesman and your experience. It's like their report card.

I've gotten 2 surveys. After service visits...they will plead and beg for you to give them high scores. Try to extort some freebies from them before you commit to a good score. If you trash them on the survey its not good for them, I think it affects their inventory allocation.

Whoa!
I *just* went to get my mail and there was a box on my porch from Fletcher Jones. Open it and inside there's a black fleece blanket! Hahahaha, I cant believe the timing! I kinda wish it had the MB star logo on it instead of just saying Fletcher Jones Motorcars on it !

It was a welcome suprise in the mail today. Anyone else get a gift for their purchase yet?

For parts (huge wholesale discount prices) go to HOEHN, unless you get to be real good friends with the parts guys at MBSD. HOEHN always has good price discounts.
For service, HOEHN has better/more MB loaners. At MBSD you could get stuck with a Toyota Camry or Infiniti, if you don't make an appointment for service. If you make an appt. demand an MB loaner. I've gotten an ML320, C240 4-matic, and C320 Sedan. I would rate both about the same for the quality and timeliness of service. I've yet to have anything serious happen to the car that required it to be there more than a couple of hours. Best service rep at MBSD is: Travis Cupples. If you're going to get service done at MBSD, ask for him by name when you go in, and make him your full-time SA, so they don't switch-a-roo SA's on you.
For car wash MBSD is pretty good IMO. If you have a dark paint job, just skip the car wash, no matter how good it is. You don't want swirls ! They do vacuum the interior, clean windows in & out, and detail tires.
For sales I did the internet comparison game with Escondido, Hoehn, and MBSD. In both instances within the past year, MBSD beat anything and everything. I ended up with C320's for much less than C230K's. If you ever buy from MBSD, go straight to Mr. Martin Datnow and skip everyone else. Not that they're bad salesman, but Martin does not play games, nor does he give you a run-around. He is the TOP #'s guy in the district, and his awesome reputation speaks for itself.
Finally, the gifts... my only experience has been with MBSD, and they threw a whole bunch of stuff at me. (I think the list is posted up above somewhere on this thread). Some stuff was handed to me (or my wife) at the time of delivery, others came in the mail a few days to weeks later. Even my daughter got a free MB Teddy Bear just because I was buying some parts at the counter (at discount no less !)
