Actually, MB offers a free first "visit" at 1K-3K miles. I don't know if that footnote refers to that visit, or the 1year/13K first maintenance.

Well, I personally don't want to live in SoCal, so I guess I'll stop complaining.
For me finding and negotiating deals is my JOB! As for the prices, deals are everywhere.... I have a client in another state and it was time for their service B last month.... They were quoted a cost of $410 but noticed that the dealership had an ad stating "All dealer coupons accepted" I sent them a coupon and their dealer accepted it no problem.... Seek and you shall find

key word is "SCHEDULED", so yes it refers to the 1yr/13K maintenance.

The 1K first visit is not a maintenance service, rather more of a courtesy check up and "vent your frustration all you want" visit.

That's the idea !

It should definitely be DEALER INDEPENDENT. Don't quote me, but if it's sold/advertised by MBUSA, then every dealer should honor it.

Kinda like the Extended Warranty. I bought it from a MB Dealer in Chico, CA (northern Cali), but good/honored at all MBUSA dealerships.

The plan is not owned by the dealership. They are just a vender who can sell it. As it states on the document , it can be used at any authorized mb service location. SEE POST 32

Oops my bad. So wait a minute, could I actually buy this plan from a dealer all the way down in SoCal? Or maybe you have to show up in person to sign docs...

Btw, I just got off the phone with MBUSA and the guy said the 4/52K plan *is*meant to cover the 2nd B service at 4/52K. Just to be safe, it'll probably be good to bring in the car for that 2nd B before 4/52K, but the plan should cover it.

Given that piece of information, it's probably worth it for me to get the plan. Gotta shop around for a good price now...

No docs to sign. It is based on your vin and will be part of your car history.... If you go into a dealership the price will be more.... Remember buying under invoice info. Call Lisa at Chico MBZ since she sells a lot of warrantys. This will give you a point of reference for a low price to use so you can then call a few other dealers and ask what their price is and afterwards say but "I can get it for XX price can you beat it?

As soon as anyone gets a good price from Liza or anywhere else, please post it so we can keep looking. My prices here are always going to be higher, as you can tell by my posts about taxes here, so I'll end up buying it wherever you guys do, over the phone.

Begging to be used is correct. There were many of us begging but couldn't get one. What a shame if they were to expire and they didn't get a chance to help anyone...

I believe that you are misinformed regarding the transferability of the Love Mercedes Tour coupons. The $1500 LMT coupons that was referred to in the earlier thread that's being begged 2 be used are NON-TRANSFERABLE. Hence, they are not going to waste neither you nor anyone else is missing out by them collecting dust.

Just wanted to clarify.

That is why I said my salesman gave me a "rough" estimate, IE, like somewhere close to those numbers. He followed that by saying go over to service where they have better numbers.

LOL, I'm starting to think people either don't read my post or english is a second language. I said I was too lazy to look it up, and that I was guessing. I didn't have the manual with me..but I wasn't too far off. Anyway, I think you can squeeze 2As & 2Bs, which when you add the cost of inflation over a 4 year period is pretty much breaking even.

Yeah, ask them to send you their property tax bill, you'll sing a different tune.

I called MBUSA in NJ. They say the 4/52K plan is intended to cover 2 A's and 2 B's. Just be careful to do your 2nd B on time.

The inflation will be offset by the interest you could earn by keeping your money until you need to pay for the services though. It's probably a wash.

Property taxes are not cheap in NorCal either.

O wel you line says left coast...so didn't know if u were oregon, washington or wherever...Yes the interest and inflation could be a wash...but how many people are truly gonna let that money sit and gather interest?? Plus, I think the rate of parts inflation will be far more than that of IRs. Labor may be on par, but I doubt parts will. Bottomline, I think eiher way it goes it is a wash, maybe 50-100 difference at most, which in my book is still a wash. Basically as stated previously, pay me now or pay me later. but I'll keep the ears & eyes open for the cheapest rate offered.

She's out of the office today.

I called around in California. Most dealers seemed to either have no idea what I was talking about, or knew that it just came out, but didn't have any concrete info yet. I will keep following up.

It's interesting that Carlos' (PRHelo) dealership in PR already had a booklet they could give him, while CA dealerships still seem to not quite know about it yet.

The MSRP cost of the plans is shown in the photos PRHelo took of the booklets, see earlier in this thread. The actual price you pay will depend on whether your dealer gives you any kind of discount.

I'm going to wait a week or two and revisit this, since dealers around here don't seem to quite have all their info from MBUSA on these plans yet.

Good luck finding out the invoice cost. Unless you have a friend who works at a dealership.

Quote from Lisa

I sent a quote request to Lisa in Chico as recommended in this thread. Here's what I got:

Date: Tue, 14 Sep 2004 14:17:47 -0700 (PDT)
From: lisa lehrbaum <lisamariechico@yahoo.com>

Hi

I would say get the basic, unless you are hard on your
brakes. 4 years or 52,000 miles will be $1490.00.
Thank you,
Lisa

In a previous email I told her that I had a 2005 C230K sports coupe. If I'm reading the brochure PRHeloPilot posted correctly, 4yrs/52K MSRP is $1312. I'm pretty sure she quoted me for the basic & not the Plus option.

Anyone come up with anything else?
