Hi guys,

So I finally got the rear suspension squeak when going over bumps etc.
Car was taken to a mechanic and he diagnosed the problem to be the rear wheel carrier, which he says needs to be replaced.

The cost from mercedes is around $1021 each!
My question is does the entire carrier need to be replaced or is there bearings that can be replaced separately?

I drive a 2001, w203, C180 and based in South Africa

the usual cause for a rear axle squeak is the carrier bearing No 20. To replace it one needs a special tool, take a look to youtube. Your mechanic is ......
