Call the dealer and ask for all suitable PNs for your VIN.

Generally speaking, it's a bad idea to mix and match electronics when it comes to these cars. There are many versions of the different modules and not all are compatible. Not saying it won't work, but it'd be a dumb way to waste money if this is the case.

If you want to save a few bucks, I'd try a local wrecker.

Can't say I've ever seen one of those sensors fail before.

I did not see the diagnostic results myself. The dealer just told me it had failed and should be replaced, but it is stupid expensive. Is there anyway to reset this sensor or other problems I can look for as replacing it is my last option.

The dealership is in the business of replacing parts as opposed to saving customers money. There's a reason this car forum exists. I'm sure many members here (myself included) have had the dealer replace parts that didn't solve the problems we were having.

I would try a used module off eBay (just match the PN) to be honest.

I was just at my local dealer getting some small clips and bits - and I overheard a service advisor say, “the total for your husband’s new engine is $16,732”…

^ That's a lot of dealership touch screen coffees.

The only bigger ripoff than dealership parts is the labour they charge for installing them.
