Mercedes MAF vs. VDO
MAF failed AGAIN.
I once bought a VDO from overseas, my car ran terrible.
But is the one sold by Mercedes just the same part in a different box?
I've had 2 Bremi MAF's. They last just a few thousand miles and the glue gives out and the
sensor gets blown out the side. Got one replaced under warranty.,
tried gluing this one with JB Weld. Failed almost immediately again.
Didn't hold.
So, is the Mercedes on worth it? Anyone out there still with a 2.3L C Coupe?

The company name is Siemens VDO, the injection system is manufactured by Siemens, VDO was bought from Siemens long time ago is the OEM manufacturer for the MAF, so at least they are from the same assembly line. If they have different quality control? Who knows, but the engine will run with it.
I would take a look at the live data from the MAF. I have the first MAF from 2001 running, the only thing I noticed that it maxed out at 170 g/s instead of 185 when its new, so the engine is running lean from 4800 RPM and up. I have a bigger crankshaft pulley.
From my perspective, the VDO MAF should be ok.
Funny, I needed a new Kompressor belt tensioner and had to buy it from Rockauto USA, nowhere to buy it in Europe.

Yeah, I bought a belt tensioner from RA too and it was the same as Mercedes. I forget the brand.
But same.
