to each his own. i totally agree that the resale value will be higher for the 2005's because of the upgrades. oil chages are worth around $80-$150 i think. depending on service A or B. plus you get 5. 3 A's and 2 B's. anyhow, in the end the 2005 still has the updated interior. and i wouldn't think resale will be $4500more. maybe right now, but if you just got your 2005 then why would you be selling it, and if your did you'd be taking a huge hit on the cost of the car. anyhow once the W204's hit the dealers, 2006 (oops), we are all outdated! 
my car is only missing the updated interior. still have passenger power seat though and i still have memory search for radio stations with my steering wheel controls. im easily amused! i like the center console i have, especially since i have COMAND and climatronic. i do wish i had the new set of gauges though.

Resale value and depriciation are not things most people look at when buying a car.... With all the great deals on the 2005's, if I was in the market or had a client in the market, the price of the 2004.5 would have to be fantastic to offset loss of a year since it is already September.
