Reliability

There is no free lunch- more power has to mean increased wear. However- this amount of "wear" is nominal- we have been producing these systems for four years- some customers have as much as 100,000+ kilometers! No problems!

Hmm, not to be rude, but I don't think 100,000 km is that much for a MB. Not long enough to make sure statistics on whether the increase in engine wear is nominal anyway. I mean, my moms -91 Ford Escort has 210,000 km on the odo...

... yes, but it's still a Ford Escort... who cares how many miles it has on it? It's probably producing barely enough power to keep it moving, much less enough power to cause extra wear.

105 wild ponies Well, I still think that 100,000 kms is nothing for a Benz. Thats why I think it says little or nothing that tuned MB-engine has hold up good for this distance...

I said 100,000 PLUS kilometers- I dont really keep track of total mile figures from Europe as I have other duties to perform- suffice to say that I am sure there are 100,000+ MILES of some of the early SLK's.

Fair enough. I will take the chance. By the way, how the hell do I get my hand on Kleemann's products in Sweden?!??

You can either drive south to the ferry or take the bridge. Go to Farum and see Claus or Martin.

Or you can write them ca@kleemann.dk and make an arrangement.

They will install for you. I have no idea what the price is or how the VAT works out.

I news on the alloy pulley

I was wondering if anyone has any news on the Kleemann alloy pulley. I prefer the alloy over the ring pulley. The last I heard, was that Kleemann was releasing this sometime soon. How many others are waiting for the alloy pulley? Granted it is only 10 extra ponies, but to me it seems to make a lot more sense from a mechanical standpoint. Less mass to move, would that not equal less wear on the internals. Also, it sounds like it would be easier to remove and install the old pulleys if any problems arise. Finally, I am new to superchargers--came from the turbo world, so please forgive me for my elementary questions--still learning. Oh! I am looking for the alloy pulley for an '02 C230.

My local performance shop called Kleemann yesterday and was told 60-90 days on the alloy pulley. So I wait.

They also had a technical conversation and my local guy was very impressed with the results (performance and intake Temps) so far on the alloy pulley, so he recommended that I wait for the Alloy Pulley from Kleemann.

Kleemann Pulley

Good deal! I am waiting too for the alloy pulley. To me, based on no specific studies, it makes more sense to remove the stock pulley. Granted the cost is a bit more, but after buying a MBZ, I do not think I am going to sacrifice on upgrades. In the mean time, I am going to focus on the sound system--or the lack there of. How many of you are waiting for the Kleemann alloy pulley? From what I've read about Kleemann's current pulley, we should be in for quite a ride with the upgrade. I feel like a child waiting for x-mas. I am glad to hear of the postive feedback from your tech guy. The C230 is my weekend car, but when I take it out, I take it out. I am always getting shouted out by my pain in the *** girlfriend to slow down. I keep telling her I did not go to racing school or buy a Benz so I can drive the speed limit. She told me she no longer want to drive with me. She gave me an option, slow down or we take two cars. Guess what I said. How many of you get this type of S***. I do not want you all to think I am a crazy when I get behing the wheel, but when the opportunity is there, I do like to stretch the legs on my car. I am not the type of person to do 65 in a 25, but I have no problem going over a 100 on a deserted stretch of highway. Oh! for those that have asked, the C230 has no problem hitting 125. I topped out at about 135. I think this was do to momentum, I hope some company comes up with a solution for the upper limit. Once I had the APR for my 1.8t jetta, she hit 140. At that speed the car was very scary. The suspension on that car needed to be upgraded to handle the speed, but I feel with the C7 tires, the Benz can handle over 130. When I hit the limit, the car still felt tight and responsive. What do you all think. Maybe we need a new topic. Sorry if it is a bit off, I am just loving this car.
