Dashcam Hardwire

Hi all!

I just got my first Benz, an '03 W203 C240. I'm looking to fuse tap my dashcam. Where would be the best fuse location to do so? Thanks!

There's a fuse box located on the driver side dash on the side I've never tapped into any fuses GL.

To be honest I'd look in the mirror assembly. Pretty sure there are some switched wires that can be used if your camera doesn't draw too much juice.

I honestly haven’t had the chance to look, been busy with other things and I have my focus on other Interior stuff but I’ll be taking a look soon. I’ll quote you again and update you once I finally hardwire it.

thank you all for your help btw, it is greatly appreciated!

Any update ? All the fuses in the front dash are permanent live. I have checked with a multimeter
My lighter socket is usually taken and is in the centre console so not possible there.

Is there anywhere in the boot/trunk which would work ? Needs to be ignition live and not permanent

Seems like there's no solution at all. Got a GLC 300e X253 from 2022, and they started to remove the fuse responsible for the 12V after ignition, on every vehicle starting from 2020,to force people to purchase their inbuilt dashcam.
On another thread, one guy succesfully mananged to wire his dashcm, but he had to solder some wires on the radar hidden in the central mirror housing.
