Unhappy Bi Xenon flickering???

I purchased a pair of bi-xenon's here on the forums and they arrived friday. I got Sunamn to install them (thanks bro) and one of them (the right side) dosen't work. Sunman wasn't able to set the computer to bi xenon present, and so we thought that might be the reason that the right side light won't work. I was wondering if anyone else had any experience with this? I thought if the lights wouldn't work because of not being recognixed in the computer as being set to bi xenon present, that BOTH lights would be flickering or not working, not just one light. Could someone tell me what happens when one of your bi xenon bulbs is bad? Any help with this would be appreciated.

I have never had a bulb go bad but as far as I know, the bulb usually dims down. And that is how your bulb was when i first tired it on. It was much dimmer than the left side. I am not sure if the bulb flickers when going bad though. Anyone have input on this?

I have had a bulb went out, Sunman was right...it started to get dimmer...then it changed color...then...it went out totally. I could see the glass tube has a hole burnt thru it. But as for the flickering....that sounds weird if it was the Xenon present issue coz like you said both side should be flickering and nnot just one side. Oh I also had a bad ballast, that could also cause the bulb to burn out. If it is your ballast, then you may be risking a new bulb when you try to replace it. If you are brave enough, you can put your right side bulb into your left side bix and check to see if anything changes (dont put your left bulb into your right bix as your right ballast may be bad). If your right bulb works fine on your left bix...that means your right ballast is bad. But again, if its the same when you put on the left side, there still maybe a chance that you have a bad ballast on the right that caused the bulb to have problem, or it could simply be just a bad bulb. However you want to check, good luck on that. Bottom line is you can always get a new pair of 6000K bulbs on Ebay for like $90-$120, 4300k are even cheaper..... But a new ballast from the stealer is $400!!!!.

I just noticed that my fog lights are not on, so I am hoping that something is just not plugged in.

Hmmm, I don't remember anyone unplugging them, Quentin, as they didn't need to be removed to get that bumper off. I just remember that by the time I got there, you and Sunman had removed the wire grills, but the fogs remained in place. So I doubt there was a reason to unplug them, but I am not sure.

I think all these are coding issues, but only sunman can confirm. I'm sure you guys can debug that next week.

thats good 2 know Bob, because that deffinitely means there is some sort of coding issue, because the fogs were working before.

When I put HID light bulbs in mine it was fine for a day or so then it started flickering. The dealer coded the ECU for Xenon Present and all is well.

As the lamp is used, the internal electrodes degrade, increasing the required ignition voltage. Also, the electrode material deposits upon the reflector and window, decreasing light output. Eventually, the voltage required to ignite the lamp will exceed the voltage from the power supply and the lamp will not ignite.

New Bi-Xenon installed this past weekend

I finally got to meet the famous Steve this past weekend.

Not only is he a genuinely nice guy, but he also does incredible work in such a fast amount of time. I am certain it took him less then a hour to install my lights, or maybe it just seemed that way because of the state of amazement I was in during the procedure. In addition to my lights, he reprogrammed my display to show fuel level remaining in gallons, and activated cornering lights.

Thanks Steve and Wanda for making my first experience with you the best. I'll be looking forward to the next visit you make to the So. Cal area

- Kevin

Email steve or wanda and ask them for pricing, it's a much, much better deal then if you were to get them through the stealership. I am certain about that.

How do you email Steve?

I had to go with the fake lights because i shoulda and woulda ordered the BIX if I wasn't brain dead at the time i orded my car! After seeing the real thing though i would love to have the real BIX. I mean I have what i consider the best fake HID/BIX i.e.:Super Xenon 6000K's (www.seekspeed.com), but there is nothing like the real thing!

Those look absolutely incredible.

How can a person get ahold of the famous Steve?

Thanks.....
