I bought an Android head unit for my 2007 Mercedez C280. The head unit is the same as the one listed in the following link. After I installed it as shown in the below picture, the head unit works but no sound can be heard. It seems the head unit was not connected to the car audio system. Does anyone know what's the problem and how to address the issue? Thanks.

Did you have the Harman Kardon system in your car or the standard/base audio system? The HK system has a separate amplifier and your unit may not be compatible.
Unfortunately, I have seen mixed reviews regarding the quality of inexpensive units like the one you bought. You may need to exchange and hope that the replacement does not have the same problem.

If you had the standard audio system then you can rule out a problem with the amplifier. Since you state, "the head unit works but no sound can be heard" I'm assuming the unit powers on and you can see the screen and the unit responds to the controls.
If that is correct, the most likely problems are either (1) the unit is defective or (2) the speakers are wired incorrectly. Is there any way for you to bench test the unit? To do this, you would need a 12-volt power source (I use an old computer power supply) and at least one speaker.
I have the exact head unit as yourself and purchased it from ebay to install in my Mitsubishi outlander 2010. I was having the same problem as you, everything works perfectly except there is no sound. I searched for hours and finally found an answer on YouTube. Basically the amp in the car needs power and the harnesses that come with the head unit do not provide that so what I did was connect the blue/green wire from the head unit that has a label on it saying amp cntrl into the red power cable in the original harness and voilaa the sound came on.
Sorry for my lack of knowledge I am an amateur but below is the link to the YouTube video.
I had the same thought - that the problem was caused by not sending a turn-on signal to the car's amplifier. However, Da Huang said he had the stock audio system which does not have an external amp.

I am not very sure about it. I am almost an ignoramus on car electronics. Below is the original harness in my car. The vendor said my car has an optical fiber, so I need to order an additional fiber optic box as shown in the below picture. Is it right?

Hi Manomeister,
Thank you very much for your reply and the video. I am not sure the problem I am having is due to the same cause you had. Because there is a wire saying amp control from the head unit, and also a wire saying amp control from the harness. I was told to connect them together to provide power for the amp. I measured the voltage between the two wires. It did have 12 V between them.
Hi everyone, I am trying to install a Junsun unit from eBay on my car. The seller instructed me to connect a cable to canbus L and H on the passenger side. Can someone tell me where I can find the canbus on the car?
Thanks!

I think your instructions may be based on a right-hand drive car. I have not seen a CAN Bus block on the passenger side of my (left-hand drive) car. There is one in the panel beneath the steering wheel. As shown in the link, I made a connection to the CAN Bus block when I retrofitted memory seats in my car. You need to remove a few torx fasteners from the panel directly beneath the steering wheel and the block should be obvious. It will have several brown and brown/red striped wires attached to it.

Good luck.
Hey Kevin,
Thanks for the information. I see in the W211 video in thread at post#14 there is a CAN bus above the glove compartment. I will check on my C55. The eBay seller instructed to connect to passenger side. The CAN bus block under the steering wheel has a connector in location 8 already.

My knowledge of CAN is limited, but based on experience it doesn’t seem to matter which location you use when you connect a component to the network. If there is an open connection on the block under the steering wheel that should work.
