Question Water gushing sound at the higher end of my rev range

Whenever I get into the higher end of my c200k's rev range, that being over 4000-4500ish plus rpm. It sounds somewhat like a pipe is halfway full of water and seems to come from right in front of the driver (right hand drive, so right side of the engine bay)

I thought at first it might be the coolant because I've had problems with coolant leaks in the past, namely in the past my coolant return to the coolant tank just dumped the coolant out the bottum of the engine bay, but now the coolant system has no leaks that I know baout and stays at a pretty good level.

My other suspicion would be the fuel system but I really don't know.

Sounds like the cooling system still. You're sure the coolant level is correct?

The only other fluids in the vicinity would be engine oil (unlikely to be the problem) and power steering. Have you checked the PS fluid level? This one requires the occasional top up.

Based on your description, it doesn't sound like your transmission fluid would be the culprit either, though it wouldn't hurt to check. This has to be done while the engine is fully warmed up and at operating temperature (80C).
