I have been considering the MB Extended Warranty for my C230K.

I am curious if mbtech208 has any opinions on the value of this warranty?

I feel the car is reliable but could very expensive to repair since I tend to keep a car for 10 years (about 200K mi.).

With a Mercedes, it's a good idea to buy the most aggressive extended-warranty you can buy. If a control unit or some other insanely expensive part goes out on you, the warranty has already paid for itself.

For those who are interested, Lisa Lehrbaum at Courtesy Motors (MB Dealer in Chico, CA) offers a great discount on the MB Extended Warranty. Her number is 1-800-655-3535. I understand you can purchase the warranty from her, even if you purchased your MB elsewhere.

I bought the extended warranty from Lisa on the last day the old 4yr/100,000 mile warranty was available. She was really nice to deal with, no BS. She even warned me that it might not go through because it was so late in the day that if my vin didn't make it into the computer, there would be no tech support for her at that hour and I would not get the 4yr warranty. She said she would refund my money if it didn't make it in. But it did, and I got the warranty. It did take until the 18th of this month to get the paperwork, so that was the only slow part.

Here is the thread that I mentioned before. It actually made me decide not to get an extended warranty. But, there were good points on both side. I think that it's a gamble either way.
