w203 rims upgrade

Hello all, hope every one is doing great, so my car is an 06 c180 i have 16 inch rims on it at the moment, so i was offered a pair of 17 inch wheels the owner claims are from a 2018 c class amg, can any one advise if the rims are amg or is there any way i can make sure before buying them and also would they fit my car or will they cause problems with suspension or break etc . Thanks in advance

You have to check the offsets. I imagine some test fitting will be required if you want to avoid rubbing issues.

My understanding is that W202 W203 W209 R170 wheels are interchangeable but using W204 wheels on a W203 which is what you're trying to do requires spacers and longer bolts.

those arent amg rims. a few months back i got some 18 inch rims from a c250 and they have the amg lettering on the rims. but they didnt fit my car at all. i guess i need to get another set of spacers since the first ones didnt work.

We need a few more pieces of information. They are 17 inch but 17x? Should be somewhere between 17x7.5 to 17x8.5. Then there is the offset. On the inside spokes you will see something that says ETXX with 2 numbers. THat is the offset.

At a minimum you will need spacers and bolts with the correct head and shaft size. Newer Benz's have a R14 head size on the lug bolts and ours have a r12.
