I dreamed last night that it was my CLK430 that had the carlsson ashtray. Much to my disappointmnent, when I woke up I remembered that I don't have a CLK430.

Now that I think about it, Frank, do what's less expensive. If Piano Black will be just as much as color matched, I would do color match. If it's cheaper, go with piano black. Either way, I think you'd get the same effect.

well, the Obsidian Black in certain angle looks brownish...and if doing the trims in obsidian black it'll just remind me of my Beetle which has the door trim the same color as the exterior. also obsidian black sometimes does look dusty.
cost wise it'll be the same since I have a pretty good relationship with the shop since all the kits and such for BMW and MB are all painted there.

UPDATE: Piano Black interior trim...sort of. w/ pics
well, haven't been around as much for quite a while especially since nothing really new's going on with the car, so I've been taking up other hobbies for a little bit.
anywayz, finally got the time to put my idea into actions and installed the trims that I had it painted a while back.
btw, if anyone wants to buy my C32/patterned aluminum trims are for sale $500 OR $250 plus your wood trim.
here are the pics

bad pic showing the door trims
now the heart breaking part of today's action!! I somehow manage to pop out the last trim piece along the passenger taking a hard left ...got to my friend's place realize the piece was missing...went back to the scene and found it broken and badly rashed. someone probably ran it over after it popped out.
