Installing new grille. Can you help?

I just received the sport grille (large three-pointed star mounts in the middle of it) for my C240 from performanceproducts.com. It came with a small tube of something (glue?) and a T shaped tool, but no instructions. What are these used for?

thanks
Jim

Why don't you just call performance products and tell them to send you the instructions ?

My wife called them. First call the guy said he didn't know what it was for. Second call he said it was glue and some people use it for added strength to hold the star on. He said the T shaped thing was some sort of tension device to hold the star on too, but didn't know how to use it. Performanceproducts.com get an "F" for customer service The grill itself went on very easily. I used the "glue" to hold the star on. I'll hold onto the T shaped thing until I find out what it is really for. Thanks.

Jim, it is very easy, i did mindfor my c240 as well, the small tube is the glue, once you put the star in the middle, (there is only one direction to put the star in the grillle as sit right in the centre of the grille) then put the glue (black in color) on the back side of the grille which you should see the little notch from the star, make sure put enough on it, I used up the whole tube! then look at the front again, make sure the star is right in the centre. Try to get something it can fix the position, leave it about 30-45 mins, that's it!!!

Then, open you hood, under the neath of the original grille, you should see some screws around it, unscrew them, you should be ready to go.

Jim,

The "T" is a tool that is use to sqeezes the black glue out of the tube (believe it or not). I guess they want you to use up all the glue.

Duh! Why didn't I realize that?! Thanks
I just squeezed out a thin bead around the back of the star before I mounted it on the grille. It seemed to work out okay. For some reason the left and right sides of the ring on the star stick out slightly. The will NOT lay flat no matter how much pressure I exert. I wonder if super glue would work on the plastics in the grille and star?
On a related note, I also got the flat hood star. No directions came with it, of course! I THINK I put it on correctly. Anyone care to tell me if you are supposed to put the rubber coated bar with its tips facing up or down?

Jim
