I have a 2003 w203, which has parking sensors. I never used them as they were off by default and couldn't be bothered to turn them on. Few weeks back i was bored and turned them on just to test how it works. When i turned them on there was just a loud tone, which stopped after 2 seconds and two red lights came on (see the picture). Did anybody come across this issue or does anyone know how to fix it? Front Back
Try throwing a scanner on and scanning for codes, it may tell you which (if any) of the sensor is reporting a fault. PARKTRONIC likes to shut off the entire system if it detects any of sensors not cooperating.
Thanks for the answers and yes, i'm sure it's not normal behavior... both pictures were taken in the garage, so at least the front sensors should have some bars as i was 20 cm away from the wall. This car was in a car crash 2 years ago, when the previous owned hit someone. My dad fixed it up and gave it to me. If I remember correctly he reinstalled all old parking sensors as they all looked good... I will try to get it scanned and i'll post what happens.
I have a question, so here’s the situation. My parking sensors are not working. I tested the sensors for resistance, and they all show 6.45, which means they are working. Then I tested the current on the adapters, and it shows about 5.44 on each one.
I took the time to check the installation and found no cracks except for some rust on the adapters, which I thought was the problem, but cleaning it didn't help. Now, I want to know your opinion on what could be wrong. Should I replace the module or not, since I haven't found any way to check the module's functionality?
Also, the parking sensors and the module are made by Bosch.
