Talking color matrix

ok I have the color matrix, but its 20 pages long.....so heres the long and short of it.....changes are as follows...

capri blue is a standard color....no having to pay a special order fee, but you will have to pay the metallic paint cost

no tectite grey

new color pewter(metallic): here is the matrix for pewter

c230 komp:
standard interior - charcoal cloth with ash pattern
standard interior - charcoal cloth
Special order interior - oyster cloth with oyster pattern
special order interior - oyster leather

C240/320 sedan/wagon
standard interior - ash leather/ash leather inserts
standard interior - charcoal leather/charcoal leather inserts
special order interior - pacific blue leather

C32
charcoal
charcoal/dark blue
charcoal/merlot red

there is no sports package this year, and there doesnt seem to be a bi-xenon option on the C32 although this may change.

Higher specific output for 1.8? Does that mean higher overall power or higher power/displacement?

It means more hp/liter. The new engine has about 5 hp less than the current engine and a 15 lbs-ft or so less torque over a narrower rev range.

Very interesting...

For the C 230 K:
- no more REST mode for the climate control
- no standard auto-dimming mirrors
- a higher specific output engine (nice spin MBUSA )

Glad We're getting a 2002!

The standard 6 speed manual on the C 320 is interesting though.

But it's a bummer that you need an auto gearbox for 4MATIC, though I hope the 4 MATIC is better than it was in the 300E...

I can hear moans.

The 6 speed offered in the C320....while taking away the sport package.

I just skimmed the order guide and perhaps I misread things?

I didn't care for the sport package...but it seems like a big mistake not to offer it - especially with the new manual transmission offering.

I would have sprung extra for the bigger engine if it was available with the manual transmission when I bought my C240.

I agree they should offer some sport pack with the manual transmission - but the loss of the current one is no loss at all - its a pretty worthless sports pack. Its pretty much all just cosmetic, and that fake aluminiwhatever trim is awful.

They should come back with a real sport pack: Bigger wheels, noticeably more aggressive suspension and sports seats, and that's all.

Thumbs down

I cant belive this... now the Auto Tranny is optional for more money on the C 320 sedan???
The way all these options are adding up, i might be better off getting the E 320 sedan...
These are very Ford-esque tactics for reducing costs and maximising profits for D.C.

Not pleasing.... i think i will be calling Manhattan BMW for a quote on a 330i tommorow.

I didn't see C7 as an option. How could they possibly eliminate C7?

Looks like MB is removing the Sport from Sport Sedan and Sport Coupe.
The only sprt variant will be the C32 //AMG.

Hmmm. Kinda glad I'm getting a 2002. More de-contenting is the last thing MB needs to do with the C-Class. I won't be surprised if the 2003s get slammed by the auto magazines as being "cheap" MBs; just as the coupe currently gets poorly reviewed for that reason.

With all the new changes for the 2003....MB making most everything an option...my 2001 C240 seems to be more of a deal than a new 2003/2004 when it is time to decide what to do when my lease is up. Maybe, I should just keep the car, pay it off and have a car with more options than a newer model. I wonder what MB motives are by doing this? Cost cutting? Like previously stated...by the time you get all the options you want...you could get an E-Class.
