Meguiars online sign up
from an email sent to me:
(important if you plan on attending, please read!!!!)
Hi Doug,
Last weekend I had 2 people show up from a car club that originally had over 20 people signed up. I don't care so much that they didn't show up, but someone should have let me know and I would have used last Saturday for another club as I always have a waiting list for detailing clinics.
To try to control this a little bit better and to get an accurate head count for,
* Goodie Bags
* Coffee and Pastries
* Pizza and cold drinks
I am now asking anyone that wants to attend to reply to a "Sign-Up Forum" on Meguiar's online.
Also, a little over a month ago, my son was in an accident to which I had to go to Loma Linda Hospital for three days starting late Friday night. Because I had no control over the sign-up list I was unable to contact everyone to let them know the class would be cancelled. As it was, some members never received the cancel message and drove all the way to Meguiar's to find out the hard way.
Your event is coming up this weekend, if you have an e-mail list for the people attending, I would appreciate it if you could forward everyone this e-mail with these two links

Online Sign-up list to attend a Meguiar's detailing class

If a person is unsure of how to register and become a member of Meguiar's Online Discussion Forum, (You have to be a member to "Reply" to a message), the above sign-up link contains another link that goes to a tutorial on how to register to become a member. I know some may balk at this, but I feel it is not much to ask for everything Meguiar's is doing to put on these free classes including goodie bags, snacks, pizza lunch, and most important, valuable education on detailing your car the right way the first time.
I know this is short notice; I've been working behind the scenes on this and so many other forum related tasks that it's very hard to keep up with everything. I have already added you names to the list.
Again, if you could please forward this to your list of people that are planning on attending, or if you have a sign-up list posted to your own forum if you could add this to the thread I would really appreciate it.
Thank you.

Doug, you need to give MIKE the list of everyone who has signed up, because there are other people signing up, that were not on the original list, and like Mike says there are only so many available spaces. Unless you REALLY want everyone to sign up again on the Meguiars forum, which requires registration.

nah dude, you are ABSOLUTELY right !! that's why I recanted my posting.
I already signed up on the MEGUIARS site. Those who signed up better hurry, if they really want to go. Since it's posted on their site, it is now open up to anyone. http://www.meguiarsonline.com/forums...&threadid=3210

im pretty sure you need to sign up in order to attend. this is because there is only so much classroom space and there will be food and gift bags as well.

Mike also suggests that everyone wash their cars the day prior to the detail day. cars must already be cleaned in order to be volunteered.
quote from an email i received from Mike today:
When I first started doing these classes, the goal was after the classroom session, to detail as many cars as possible. I have been asked by my boss to work on 2-3 cars and teach people skills and techniques they can use on their own time.
The idea kind of borrowed from the old saying...
"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime"
So for the last 4 months or so, I have been doing my best to teach everyone skills and techniques by working on a couple of volunteered cars. What we look for in the volunteer cars are dark colored cars, red, black, blue etc, (no white or beige, these two colors are too hard to see changes in), and the cars must be clean as in washed the day before.
I recommend everyone washing their car because after the two demo cars are finished, I do stay late and help people to work on their cars.

you know, there were bunch of people on these forums asking about Euro impact (rubbing) strips, and now where are they ?
If I wasn't getting the PTS strips, I would of bought them from you, and painted them Brill Silver.
I'm surprised no one has jumped on your offer. I would say bring 'em to the Oct 23rd &/or Nov 20th meets, and offer them up for sale to anyone who shows up with the US strips.

im not looking to make money off them. the thing is people can buy them brand new for $120 painted. it will cost probably $80 to have them painted to match whoevers car. so i was thinking like $20 to sell them for.
damn, i sent PM's to two other Citron owners but havent heard anything yet!
