Hi all

I own c320 2001 automatic 5 speed i want to know what are options for changing gearbox to gearbox with more gears is it easy instaltion or something else needs to be done...

Still no answer. i was thinking to put 6 gear transmission if its possible

If you're talking about the 6MT, it's doable. People have done it here before. I think it's a direct swap, followed by some coding so that the car knows it's a manual. You'll lose some features. The main one is the one touch (turn?) start.

A 7 speed automatic would probably be more involved.

The 7 speed will need a new TCU at the bare minimum.

For the W203 I think the 7 speed AT was only offered in 2005+ cars. Between the pre-facelift and post facelift models there were quite a few major changes, and I'm not just talking about the revamped interior. You might need an ECU and the associated bits (EIS etc.) from a newer model car as well.

Considering these cars are now pretty cheap on the used market, you might be better off simply swapping vehicles, unless you have money to burn.

What’s wrong with the current transmission?

The 5 speed in your car is renowned for being extremely reliable. I remember the 7 speed had problems in the earlier years.
