Anyone hardwired their Valentine 1? & Remote Mute Link

I want to hardwire mine, but I'm not sure what source would be the best.
I also have an extra remote mute switch if anyone else is interested.

click on the link.

I have the Valentine 1 radar detector. I used the hard wire kit that comes with it, in my GTI. Basically, the wire is hidden except at the point where it comes out to plug in to the detector (up by the rear view mirror)
I don't like having that curly cord plugged into the lighter and the hard wire kit helps make the detector a little more stealth.

The remote mute switch plugs into the accessory part of the hard wire kit and it allows me to mute the volume without having to reach up and push the button on the detector. This is especially nice when driving through areas that always set the radar off. All it takes is a little tap of my finger and the alert volume is muted........

A friend of mine in Audi Club (an electrical engineer major at UCF) is the one that made the remote mute switches.

Those that have Valentine One radar detectors should know about the hard wire kit.

This has been discussed several times. In short, to avoid cutting wires and attendant electrical faults, you will need to run a wire to the rear compartment fuse bank and seek out a "hot all the time" slot there. On my C-sedan, it's slot #7. But it may now differ with the passage of model years.
