Anyone installed OEM Sirius in their Coupe?

Pics?
'04 model or '05?
Cost?

I was led to believe that this will be available for the Coupe from the middle of October.

i have an 03, but im going to install it. i pirced it out and the Sirius unit cost me $810. i bought it when it was first released not knowing it was not compatible with my current COMAND. the antenna had not yet been released for the coupe. anyhow i got my money back. i plan on changing out my COMAND to one with the SAT button and then having OEM Sirius installed.

after i got my money back, this was in July, my dealer called me last month and said that the antenna was available for the coupe.

Go to Sirius.com and check it out. It's like XMRadio.com but $3/mo more. I had both, XM for about a year and got bored with it and yanked it out. Now I just stare at the Comand maps while I drive and the pretty colors keep me mesmerized.

Not having the SAT function in my EURO COMAND, I couldn't go with the integrated OEM MB SIRIUS set-up that the dealership offers. However, I do have an AUX input from COMAND and plug-in at the glove box, so I opted for a Mobile SIRIUS Receiver made by BLAUPUNKT. Cost was only $149 for the unit & car kit (with a wee bit more functional features than what is available through the OEM set-up), subscription is $12.95 a month, tons of channels ! Unit is removable, and can be used at home, work, & online. Downside: Unit has to be mounted next to COMAND. However, after it was installed, it actually looks damn good and seems as if it was meant to be there. Having it all power and cables hardwired, so it's going to look even better soon enough.

Do you occasionally look around, to see if there are any pretty ladies nearby?

No, but when I drive and close my eyes, the ones I dream of are prettier and usually not dressed.

I'll take one of the SIRIUS Blaupunkt antenna that came with my car kit later tonight. It's really small, and AUTOWERKS were able to hide it under the top grill on my hood. You can't even tell it's there unless you're really looking (digging) for it. I imagine that the OEM MB SIRIUS antenna can't be any bigger, or at the worst, the same size as the one being placed on the sedans. However, one thing to consider on Coupés that Sedans don't have to worry about is the hatchback door. When it opens all the way, there is a limited amount of length available on the panoramic roof. Remember, that the roof opens up all the way too. So with a fully open roof, and a fully open hatchback, you really have to watch the placement of the SIRIUS antenna, IF you opt to place up there, and IF you already have a TELEAID antenna too ! Just things to think about.

I know the original question is about 2005 MB OEM SIRIUS installed & integrated via COMAND. The AUTOWERKS C55 Project Car has this installed and working. The antenna on his car is almost identical to mine. I believe it's a little bit bigger, if I'm not mistaken. Shape, color & logo are the same.

Like I said in a previous post, I installed the BLAUPUNKT Receiver with SIRIUS Car Kit via my AUX input from COMAND. Attached are some pictures of where AUTOWERKS placed the SIRIUS antenna (going through the firewall into the hood top grill). Also, some pics of the BLAUPUNKT Receiver itself, and its mounting next to COMAND.

Can't go wrong. They have already done the OEM MB install integrated with '05 COMAND, and can do pre-'05 COMAND (integrated or via Aux input).

Onto the top surface of that three inch wide painted panel, with that large sedan antenna?

Then what was the antenna that the dealer called about, the large sedan antenna?
