Standard documents
I got my coupe through euro delivery. The documents that came with the car (other than boat-loads of stuff for the european tags, insurance, etc.) wer limited to the Owners Manual and the Service Record. I have heard on this and other sites that most cars include other documents like recommended fluids, and the loaner I just got from my dealer included a little quick reference guide that would come in handy from time to time.
So my question is, can anyone tell me what the standard document set is for the coupe? Part numbers would be even better, as I am willing to buy the missing docs (if possible) from MB.
Thanks in advance,
jlm

I think what you're talking about, are the documents that come in the nice MB leather portfolio that you get when you buy a new car from the dealership. Included in this large portfolio is the following:
- model & year specific OPERATOR'S MANUAL (has Part #, but dependent again on your year & model)
- SERVICE BOOKLET PASSENGER CARS (each annual edition has a different part #)
- model & year specific QUICK TIPS GENERAL REFERENCE flip book (no part #)
- SERVICE & WARRANTY INFORMATION booklet (each annual edition has a different part #)
- VEHICLE CARE GUIDE booklet (S-2330-03A - 05/02 edition)
- FACTORY APPROVED SERVICE PRODUCTS (S-0473-03A - 05/02 edition)
- MERCEDES-BENZ & MOBIL booklet (includes coupon for FREE McLaren Formula 1 poster) (part # 000 584 26 98)
- MERCEDES-BENZ Centers (Dealership Directory US & Canada) 12/02 edition (# S-2410-02B)
- MERCEDES-BENZ 24 HOUR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE booklet (no part #)
- MICHELIN or CONTINENTAL Tire Warranty booklet (no part #)
- MERCEDES-BENZ CLUB OF AMERICA brochure
you might be able to obtain all of these documents from the dealership, if you explain that they were not included in your original delivery.
Additionally, from MBUSA you will receive in the mail (approx 2-4 weeks) after purchase, another leather portfolio, to hold your title, registration, & proof of insurance. In this portfolio, you will also get the following:
- MB "The Owner's Card" (magnetic striped card with your car's VIN #)
- MB "Reference Guide" (small booklet containing information on: Customer Service, Owners Online, Tele Aid, Roadside Assistance, Flexible Service System, Vehicle Warranties, and Vehicle Accessories)
- MB "Owners Online" CD-ROM (credit card sized)

Got everything with my 2003 and my 2004.5
There are obvious annual updates to many of the above listed booklets.

I assume your car has already been re-delivered. We also did ED. We only got the manual at original delivery, but I assume we will get the remaining items at re-delivery. We did get the portfolio thing mentioned above in the mail.

Thanks for the great listing. I went back to my dealer, but they basically told me I'm OOL. I'm going to try to get someone at MBUSA to see what can be done about the non-P/N docs.
It seems pretty odd that they would fail to provide so many obviously useful docs. They must be added at the port.
