Refreshing an m112k timing chain or not?
Doing a tear down and refresh on the m112k for my sons C32. Bearings look good, going to put valve seals in, head gaskets, rod bolts, oil pump seal, and all other seals.
Trying to determine if I should just replace the chain guides and leave the factory chain in there, or do a vaico chain kit with all guides and tensioner with chain.
A new chain sounds great, but if it’s worse than the original, maybe not. I don’t know how many miles this particular engine has, but bores are good and bearings as well.
What do you say, replace guides with old chain, replace all of it, or replace none? Doesn’t look as if the guides are in bad shape.
