Red face Brake lining wear warning light

HI,
I just got my AMG brakes installed for the C320 about 6 mo's ago and I hardly drive the car. However, I just recently got a "brake lining wear light" Can anyone help me figure out what's wrong? My friend installed the brakes.but he's very knowledgble of installing brakes..so i don't know what the problem could be..

Thanks

Outside of something gone horribly wrong and the brakes wearing out very quickly, it's probably as simple as the sensor wire became unplugged, just plug it back in. Or it could be that a stone or something nicked the wire and broke the circuit, no likely though.

Would I need to take the brakes off to plug the sensors back in? Or even to check the sensors would i need to take the brakes off?

The wire coming out of the brake sensor has a connector that plugs into a harness, that's how you change it. You don't have to remove the brakes at all if it became disconnected at the harness which is several inches away from the actual sensor. I would imagine you have to take the wheel off to see it or maybe you can jack the car up and get underneath and see the wire. Personally I would take the wheel off and check the pads, specially the inside pad, you don't really know if the pad really wore out quickly due to a stuck caliper piston and I wouldn't risk my safety with the assumption that the sensor is wrong.
