Has this happened to anyone? (Parking Brake)

I've had this happen now about a dozen times, but sometimes when I come back to my car and start it, the parking brake light is on when I know I didn't use it leaving the vehicle. I have actually pushed the parking brake pedal down and it does depress even more so I'm not sure if the parking brake really is on or if it is on a "light" setting. Just wondering if the car has a mind of its own and decides to use the parking brake irrespective of the owner.

Thanx

Not really. In my case, I have actually pushed the parking break, then release it, and I'd still get the anoying alarm saying that I still have it on, even though I released it. I just have to release it again and the alarm goes away.

It happened to me once, and I realized that it was because I hit the E-brake while getting into the car. I only touched it with my foot, but it was enough to cause the warning to light. I just pushed it in and released it, and it was gone and never came back.

Happens to me once in a while when I accidentally tap the e-brake pedal while exiting the vehicle! Sensative little b@stard it is!

Whew. Those explanations sound more probable. I was wondering if Mercedes cars are becoming so advanced that they just put the parking brake on for you if you forgot

yeah it happens to me every once in a while, just by slightly grazin the ebrake i guess it sets off the sensor. all i do is put my foot behind the pedal and pull the pedal back a bit and that usually takes care of the light.
