2005 c230 leasing help

Ok so I went to the dealership yesterday to see about leasing a new 2005 c230 sport sedan. They did not have the exact one I wanted so we priced a similar one just so I could see what the lease would come out to be. The MSRP was $35400 and they discounted it $1500 (I was going to argue for more later). The down payment as going to be $3000 of which we figured $2032 would actually be applied to the car after fees and all that. The terms of the lease are 15k miles per yr for 39 months. The residual value on the car was quoted at $20665, which is 58%. So they quoted me a lease price of $553.80/month which is much higher than the MBUSA website.

Now my question is, running these numbers on my calculator I figure they were charging me a money factor equal to almost 10.5% APR. Am I missing something here? Like some extra fees or is this the normal money factor? What kind of leases did you guys get on similar cars? Also I am in South Florida so if anyone could refer me to someone that would be great.

This just isnt making sense to me and I am trying to make sense of it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

2005 C230 SS
South Fla Lease

I am also going to get into a 39 month lease with 15,000 miles per year within the next 3-4 weeks. The breakdown for me by a sales rep for MB was:
MSRP:
$36,278

Out the door price hopefully going to confirm with dealership this week would be: $35,700

Down payment: Cash $4,000 , $1,500 LMT coupon

That leaves me with $30,200 to lease, and the dealer rep told me that my monthly payments will come out to be somewhere around the $375 range...but since I will probably end up in the tier 2 bracket concerning credit (due to stupid identity theft issue) I will probably be paying $20 more monthly than that bring my monthly payment to $395..

The residual value on the lease that they were showing me was either 58% or 61%..I forgot, all I know is that the buyout price after the lease was done was going to be around $21,000 - $22,000.

And I live in South FLA too.....and it sucks that you will never find a car with the options you want down here, really weird.

Maybe we can do a 2 car purchase at the same time or something and maybe save us some more money??

see I would be very happy with that price. What dealership did you go to? Also do you know what the money factor was? I might be in a lower credit also since I am only 22. He said he was using tier 1, is that higher than 2 or does it go in reverse? I am up for a 2 buy deal. Let me know. Thanks for the help. Also was that payment after taxes?

One of my friends (who also happens to be a MB dealer) would be happy to help you figure out whats wrong w/ the numbers. He's up here in Ohio, but you can ask him on the phone and he'll help you out. He's quite nice. In fact on my c55 he was intially helping me work w/ a florida dealer to get the car in, (finally worked out cheaper for him to just get the car), but he's the kind of guy who just deals straight forward.

Hope that helps
PS Let him know I gave you his number

2005 C230 SS
Good info...thanks

I am 22 years old as well... 2k5c230 the price I mentioned is a price I hopefully will have finalized tomorrow when I go to the dealer, the price above was including a spoiler that I might not want anymore due to me thinking the C230 SS spoiler would be the same as the C55 spoiler...which is not even though the MB website spoiler pictures are the same for both cars.. so the actual pricing above might change a little due to this but not much...

I will PM you who I have been dealing with only because I have had some pretty bad altercations with some dealers who read everything on this website...We really should do a 2 car deal, especially because it seems that we are in the same boat more or less.....

As for MYC55 ..thanks for the feedback and your contact, I appreciate the help.

I leased my '05 SS in August for 36 months (30k mile limit). I put down $1500 and drove it off the lot. The payment includes not only the principal but state taxes as well. I pay like $525 mo.

I got mine in late-july 6spd with lighting package. 39mo lease 4000 down (using the leasing structure on mbusa back then) and 1500 coupon. It came out to be 320/mo tax included. Btw, this is based on tier 1 credit with a .023 money factor if I remembered correctly.

The fine print on the mbusa website says "qualified customers" only... so it's all about credit score.

2005 C230 SS
C230 Leasing

This is what I am looking for:

MSRP Price with Options:
$35,880

Invoice Price with Options:
$33,422 - $33,522

GOAL PRICE:
$2,080 OFF MSRP
= $33,800

Taxes and dealer fees:
$1,700

Out the Door Goal Price:
$35,500

My Goal $35,500 out the door

- $4,000 cash
- $1,500 C-Spot Coupon
= $5,500 Total Down

Leasing $30,000

On MBUSA.com
39 month lease
15,000 miles per year
Leasing monthly price: $371.00 (for Tier 1)

Add some more money for being in the "Tier 2" credit plus taxes and I will hopefully be around $400

I really do not care what the dealer has to do to meet my monthly pricing goal, as long as he meets it. What do you guys think, likely or no?? I am going to the dealer tomorrow morning to inquire about doing the 2 car purchase, so I will fill you guys in once I get back...
