CLK 200 KOMPRESSOR Elegance
C200K engine noise ??
I know this is a forum for C-Class owners but I am in Europe and we also have the CLK with the M271 Kompressor engine so the guys here on the CLK forum wont get my problem !
The "tone" of the motor has changed over the last month or so. It has become more "buzzy" and drones a bit more than usual. there aren't any fault codes and the performance is fine !
Does anyone know of any problems with these 1.8K engines, mine is a 2003 cars BTW !
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated greatly !

I am afraid you have to take it to a dealer. There have been a few reports in this forum of S/C going bad. On the other hand, I am not sure if the dealer will accept your "subjective" opinion as a reason to take any action. Tough one. If you could prove that your engine produces less power than the manufacturer specifies, that would be a different matter - but it is quite difficult to prove.

wouldn't a dyno test be able to prove that. i mean there has got to be a set number from the factory of RWHP. so if you had your car dyno'd then you will be able to find out how much yours is producing. still the fact that the dealer may not take action is likely.

Well, I can tell you that super chargers are not quite things. Now 2 things could have taken place. With time the super charger got noiser or second is that the super charger is getting bad. Either way I would take it to a dealership and get it check out. Let us know what happend. Thanks
